Practice

Areas of Practice

My practice is predominantly with adults on an individual basis as well as older adolescents. I have extensive experience in diagnosing and treating a wide variety of clinical issues including:

In addition, I provide professional consultation and supervision to psychologists, and offer Workshops that focus on mindfulness and self-development through the medium of photography.

Framework

Theoretical Approach

Primary Framework
PsychodynamicDrawing on psychoanalytic and attachment theories as well as family systems.
Additional Modalities
IntegrativeCognitive-behavioural and emotion-focused therapy, tailored to each client's needs.
Therapy Duration
I offer both in-depth, long-term therapy and short-term therapy — whichever model best serves your individual needs and concerns.

I prefer to work using a more encompassing approach that is sensitive to the particular needs and concerns of the client. My approach is not rigid — it evolves with you throughout our work together.

Please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any questions regarding my approach or practice.

Philosophy

Personal Approach

I view therapy as an opportunity to create the needed space to focus on you — your relationships with others and with yourself. In doing so, we come upon your strengths and resources as well as the parts of yourself that can be more difficult to see and/or accept.

Together, we can engage in a non-judgmental therapeutic process from a place of openness and curiosity, one that allows for a better understanding of your internal world as well as new and more adaptive ways of responding to the world around you.

I believe that the therapeutic relationship — the relationship between the therapist and client — is an integral part of therapy. The development of trust is important, as is my commitment to an ongoing process of self-awareness and growth.

Seeking therapeutic help can include short-term counselling to address relatively straightforward concerns, or longer-term, open-ended therapy to explore more complex issues through a depth-oriented approach. I see both models as being highly valuable in the overall pursuit of growth and healing.
