My Chinese name, Shing Ho, means "Biblical Hero," and my father picked the name Moses for me — so even my name carries the faith I was raised in. I grew up in a Christian home and church, and faith has never been separate from who I am; it's been woven into my life from childhood on. Today I'm an active member of Fraserland Alliance Church, where I attend regularly and continue to grow in my walk with Christ.
I believe in one God, and that Jesus Christ is His Son — fully God and fully man — who died for our sins and rose again, offering salvation by grace through faith to all who believe. I believe the Bible is God's Word, given to guide how we live, think, and treat one another. My faith isn't something I set aside during the workday; it's the foundation I return to for how I handle pressure, treat people, and do my work with integrity.
That shows up most clearly in the kind of IT work I do. Systems fail, networks go down, and clients call in stressed — often at the worst possible time. I've learned that staying calm and patient in those moments isn't just a professional skill; it's an expression of my faith. Scripture calls us to be steady and gracious under trial, and I try to bring that same steadiness to a server outage or a security incident — solving the problem without losing sight of the person on the other end of it, who is often anxious and just needs to be treated with patience and respect.
I try to carry that same conviction into how I show up as an employee: being responsible and dependable, showing up on time, and following through on what I say I'll do. When something is unfamiliar, I'm willing to put in the extra hours to figure it out properly rather than cut corners — I see that diligence as good stewardship of the work I've been given. I also believe good work rarely happens alone, so I plan tasks carefully and value working as part of a team, supporting the people around me the way I'd want to be supported.
