A worship-song presenter that lives in a single HTML file — no install, no accounts, no internet after the first load. Build a full Sunday service order (songs, scripture, readings, notices, title slides), arrange every song by section codes, then present full-screen with keyboard control. Built bilingual from the start, with English and 中文 sharing the same slide.
This is the actual tool — not a screenshot. The frame below loads index.html straight from the server. Scroll, add a song, hit ▶ Present service and drive it with the arrow keys.
Desktop — 1280 px
Mobile — 390 px
Every background is a hand-drawn SVG baked into the file. Every song is saved to the browser itself. Copy index.html onto a USB stick and it runs on the sanctuary laptop with the Wi-Fi unplugged — the same on Windows, macOS, ChromeOS or a tablet.

Loaded with a sample service (Quick Start, Call & Response, Bilingual, Play Order, Scripture, Prayer, Welcome). Nothing is sent anywhere — edits live only in this browser and clear when you do. Best experienced in its own tab.
From a blank screen to a projected service in a few minutes — no template wrangling, no slide-by-slide copy-paste.
Drop in a whole song. Blank lines split sections; [Chorus] x2 and (x2) are understood automatically — including Chinese headers.
Type the run order in section codes: V1, C, V2, C, Bx2, C, L. W plays the whole song top-to-bottom.
Tick songs to include, drag the order with ▲▼, and mix in scripture, readings, notices, a title/logo slide or a blank hold.
One button goes full-screen. Arrow keys advance, B blacks the screen, L jumps anywhere, text auto-fits every slide.
No plugins, no page builder, no framework. Roughly 1,500 lines of hand-written HTML, CSS and JavaScript — all in one file.
One list for the whole Sunday: songs, Scripture, readings, announcements, title/logo slides and blank holds — tick to include, ▲▼ to order.
Verse, Chorus, Bridge, Pre-Chorus, Ending — each with a short code, its own repeat count and its own lines-per-slide override.
Re-arrange without retyping lyrics. V1, C, Bx2, C, L builds the slide run; W means the whole song; "skip on W" leaves a last-chorus tag out.
Recognises [Verse 1] / Chorus: headers, blank-line section breaks, x2 repeats and chord-only lines — then strips the chords.
English and 中文 on the same slide. Twelve curated font stacks — 宋體, 黑體, 楷體, 圓體 — each with a Chinese fallback baked in.
20 hand-drawn worship scenes (Sunrise Cross, Empty Tomb, Living Water…) as self-contained SVG, plus 20 gradient presets. Or paste any image URL.
Per-slide backgrounds, adjustable darkening overlay, fade transitions, on-screen song label and an optional "next line" preview for the band.
Binary-search text sizing shrinks long lines and grows short ones up to your ceiling, so every slide fills the screen without overflowing.
Arrows / Space / PgDn advance, B blackout, +/− resize, L slide-jump list, R label, N next-preview, F fullscreen.
Scripture with reference line, readings, notices, and title slides with a big name plus subtitle — each with its own background and styling.
Everything persists to the browser via localStorage as you type. Close the laptop, reopen Sunday morning, it's all still there.
One-click backup of the entire service to a dated .json file, and re-import on any machine. Share a set with another campus by email.
Most churches either pay for dedicated presentation software, or hand-build slide decks every week. Here is where a single-file tool lands next to them.
| Option | Cost | Setup | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| ProPresenterMac / Windows | $399+ per machine+ paid upgrades | Install, licence, media library | Powerful and broadcast-grade — but a full app to learn, licence per computer, and overkill for a mid-size congregation |
| EasyWorshipWindows only | $499 one-time or $8 / month | Install + song database | Solid Windows tool; ties you to one OS and a local database that has to be moved between machines |
| OpenLPFree / open-source | $0 | Install per machine | Genuinely free and capable, but a dated desktop UI and still a per-machine install to maintain |
| Google Slides / PowerPointManual decks | $0 – included | Rebuild every week | No song logic — every verse, repeat and re-order is copy-paste by hand, and bilingual formatting is fiddly |
| SongsLeadSingle HTML file — this project | $0 (open the file — that's it) | None — double-click index.html |
Nothing to install or licence, runs offline on any OS with a browser, bilingual-first, arrangement by section codes, one-file backup |
